A good estimate shows which parts are known and which are assumptions. We do not quietly replace unknown values with fabricated benchmarks.

Our forecasting equation

Required accepted shots = ceiling(final approved seconds ÷ billed shot seconds). Planning generated seconds = accepted shots × expected attempts per accepted shot × billed shot seconds. Credits needed = generated seconds × verified credits per billed second. Shortfall = max(0, total planned credit demand − available balance).

The calculator's numerical defaults are invented teaching examples. Users must supply their own current billing data and a realistic attempt assumption. They are not historical test data.

Evidence categories

Primary references

Consult current vendor documentation when changing any real generation settings; rates and eligibility may evolve after publication.

Provider documentation: what to check before spending

Our examples intentionally use editable or fictional rates. For a real estimate, first check the provider's own documentation and the logged-in billing screen for your workspace. These external references are not endorsements:

Practical worksheets to keep your own evidence

Download a 12-shot budgeting worksheet (CSV) to record billed seconds, attempts, credits and rejections for each shot. Rows are intentionally empty: we have not inserted imagined production results. For the complete project, use the total-cost ledger (CSV) to record labor, rights, audio, editing, exports, and verified spend separately. Both are blank templates, not datasets or benchmark reports.

Interpreting the formula

Average attempts may be fractional as a forecast, but actual generations are whole events and products often bill fixed clip durations. Quoting decimal expected attempts is not evidence that a provider allows fractional generation requests. The estimator forecasts planning demand and is not a real-time pricing API.

What we do not do

We do not claim that fictional planning cases are independent tests. We do not sell priority rankings, accept unpublished vendor price data as verified, or claim that hosting a site or publishing a certain number of articles guarantees AdSense approval. No reviews of paid services are presented without supporting tests.
